Chatting with Gateway Family Services: Why Giving Back Matters

I recently had the privilege of sitting down with Gateway Family Services in Blaxland to chat about something close to my heart—compassion and community.

As a regular donor to Gateway, it was an honour to discuss why supporting this incredible organisation is so important to me and my family. Growing up in Mount Druitt, I witnessed firsthand how challenging it can be for families to make ends meet. Those experiences have stayed with me and now drive my commitment to giving back to families in need across our local community.

For my daughters, this is more than just charity; it’s a lesson in the importance of kindness, altruism, and supporting others. It’s about showing them the value of being part of a community that cares.

Gateway Family Services is a vital part of the Blue Mountains and Nepean region, providing much-needed support to local families. Their work is made possible thanks to the generosity of our community, and I’m proud to play a small part in helping them continue their mission.

Essentials, Gateway’s key program, is a true reflection of their motto: “100% supported by our community, for our community.” It’s this ethos that inspires me to remain involved and encourage others to do the same.
